Dennis Eckersley’s 24-year career stands out as one of the finest for any pitcher in Major League Baseball history. Eckersley had success in the starting rotation and in the bullpen as he is one of 2 players in history to have a 20-win season and a 50-save season. Eckersley’s best season came in 1992 when his performance earned him not only the American League’s Cy Young Award, but also the coveted MVP. In 2004, Eckersley was honored with his induction into The National Baseball Hall of Fame. Currently, Eckersley serves as a studio analyst for select Boston Red Sox games.
