Scott Caldwell

Scott Caldwell is a former professional soccer player and longtime New England Revolution midfielder who built his career on consistency, intelligence, work ethic, and a strong connection to New England soccer.
A native of Massachusetts, Caldwell played collegiately at the University of Akron, helping the Zips capture the 2010 NCAA national championship. He scored the game-winning goal in the College Cup final and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Offensive Player.
Caldwell continued to distinguish himself both athletically and academically at Akron before returning home to begin his professional career.
Caldwell signed with the New England Revolution as a Homegrown Player ahead of the 2013 season, becoming the second Homegrown Player in club history. He became an important part of the Revolution midfield and helped New England reach the 2014 MLS Cup Final.
His contributions were recognized in 2015 when he was named the Revolution’s Most Valuable Player. Caldwell ultimately spent nine seasons with New England before joining Real Salt Lake.
After an 11-year Major League Soccer career, Caldwell announced his retirement from professional soccer following the 2023 season.
A New England native whose career progressed from youth soccer to an NCAA championship and a long MLS career, Caldwell offers a valuable perspective on teamwork, preparation, consistency, leadership, and pursuing opportunities in professional sports.
