Sammy Davis is a professional hockey player, former Boston University captain and the first overall selection in the 2020 National Women’s Hockey League Draft. A native of Pembroke, Massachusetts, she has built her career through athletic achievement, academic excellence and a commitment to helping others.
Davis played five seasons at Boston University, developing into one of the most accomplished players in the women’s hockey program. As a senior captain, she led the Terriers with 17 goals and 41 points in 36 games. She earned First-Team Hockey East All-Star honors and was named MVP of the 2019 Women’s Beanpot after helping BU capture the tournament championship.
The Boston Pride selected Davis first overall in the 2020 NWHL Draft. She began her professional career with her hometown organization and helped the Pride win the 2021 Isobel Cup championship. Davis later continued her professional career with Ottawa’s organization in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Alongside hockey, she completed both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Boston University and earned a doctorate in occupational therapy.
Davis offers an especially compelling combination of professional athletics, advanced education and New England roots.
