Troy Brown is a three-time Super Bowl champion, Patriots Hall of Famer, former Pro Bowl wide receiver, and NFL coach whose versatility and team-first approach made him one of the most beloved players in New England Patriots history.
Brown spent his entire 15-year NFL playing career with the Patriots after being selected in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. Over the course of his career, he contributed as a wide receiver, punt returner, and even defensive back when the team needed additional help in the secondary.
Brown earned Pro Bowl honors following the 2001 season and played an integral role in the Patriots’ first three Super Bowl championships. His memorable punt return in the 2001 AFC Championship Game helped send New England to Super Bowl XXXVI and remains one of the signature plays of the franchise’s first championship run.
When Brown retired, he was the Patriots’ all-time leader with 557 career receptions. In recognition of his contributions to the franchise, he was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2012.
Following his playing career, Brown moved into coaching and spent several seasons on the Patriots coaching staff, working extensively with the team’s wide receivers and return specialists. He subsequently continued his NFL coaching career with the New York Giants.
