Kenny Anderson

Kenny Anderson is a former NBA All-Star and one of the most celebrated point guards to emerge from New York City. Known for his exceptional ball-handling, court vision and creativity, Anderson became a national basketball star while still in high school and went on to enjoy a 14-season NBA career.
Anderson starred at Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens before attending Georgia Tech, where he helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the 1990 Final Four. A consensus First-Team All-American, he was selected second overall by the New Jersey Nets in the 1991 NBA Draft. Anderson earned an NBA All-Star selection in 1994 and played for several teams during his professional career, including the Nets, Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics. He finished his NBA career with more than 10,000 points and 5,000 assists.
Since retiring as a player, Anderson has focused on coaching, mentoring and sharing the lessons of his basketball and personal journeys. His life was the subject of the 2017 documentary Mr. Chibbs, which explored his transition from professional athlete to life after basketball. Anderson served as head men’s basketball coach at Fisk University from 2018 to 2024 and now works with young athletes at Florida Coastal Prep, emphasizing skill development, leadership and preparation for the next level.
