Grant Fuhr is a Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender and five-time Stanley Cup champion best known for his role in the Edmonton Oilers dynasty of the 1980s. Calm under pressure and trusted in the game’s most important moments, Fuhr became one of the defining goaltenders of his generation during a 19-season NHL career.

Selected eighth overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1981 NHL Draft, Fuhr quickly became the backbone of a team built around extraordinary offensive talent. He helped Edmonton capture five Stanley Cup championships and won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender for the 1987–88 season. He was selected to six NHL All-Star Games and represented Canada during its championship run at the 1987 Canada Cup.

Fuhr played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and Calgary Flames in addition to Edmonton. He retired with 403 regular-season victories and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2017, the NHL named him one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players.
