Chris Wagner is a veteran professional hockey player and Massachusetts native known for his physical style, relentless work ethic, and team-first approach. A fan favorite during his years with the Boston Bruins, Wagner has built his career through determination, versatility, and a willingness to embrace demanding roles.
A native of Walpole, Wagner played college hockey at Colgate University before being selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2010 NHL Draft. He went on to play more than 350 NHL games with Anaheim, Colorado, the New York Islanders, and Boston. Wagner joined the Bruins in 2018 and became an important part of the team’s 2019 run to the Stanley Cup Final, earning appreciation from fans for his toughness, penalty killing, and commitment on every shift.
Wagner currently plays for the Springfield Thunderbirds, the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. He was named the fifth captain in franchise history in 2026 after recording career highs in goals, assists, and points during the 2025–26 season.
