Casey Sherman is an American author, journalist, and screenwriter, celebrated for his bestselling works of historical nonfiction and true-crime storytelling.  He has written more than 20 books, which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Boston Globe bestseller lists.

Sherman grew up in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and attended Barnstable High School before graduating from Fryeburg Academy in 1988. He went on to study journalism at Boston University, graduating in 1992.

Sherman began his career in journalism as a television news producer at WBZ-TV, where he won the Edward R. Murrow Award for journalistic excellence and received an Emmy nomination. His interest in true crime was a result of his aunt being the final victim of the Boston Strangler.

He has co-authored several bestselling books, including The Finest Hours and Boston Strong: A City’s Triumph Over Tragedy, both of which were adapted into major motion pictures by Disney and CBS Films, respectively. Other notable works include 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption and Helltown, which he is executive producing as a television series with Amazon and Robert Downey Jr’s production company.

Sherman frequently appears as a commentator on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Today, and CBS Evening News, and his work has been published in outlets such as The Washington Post, Esquire, and Boston Magazine.
