In Memoriam: John Havlicek

In Memoriam | Former NBA Player | 1940-2019

John Havlicek was a key component of the Boston Celtics dynasty in the 1960s. Havlicek won an incredible eight championships in his 17-year career to go along with thirteen All-Star Game appearances. He revolutionized the sixth-man position and is, perhaps, most famously known for his steal to clinch the 1965 Eastern Conference Championship. Havlicek’s #17 was retired by the Celtics in 1978 and he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984.
